I made this painting during my studio time in the woods of Aerdenhout. While figure drawing at the school of arts in Groningen, we learned to look at the empty space in between. Sometimes that story is more interesting and gives a different perspective. At the art festival of Watou they once organised an exhibition called 'de tussentijd’, when you’re going from one place to the other. It’s not always about the big things in life.
