The Amsterdam Graphic Atelier, AGA, issued an open call to design an anniversary stamp using analog printing techniques for Amsterdam's 750th anniversary.Over 40 artists responded to this call. The stamps will be exhibited from October 17, 2025, to January 25, 2026, in the old post office of Museum Het Schip.
My design is a cardboard print in primary colors with a stamp whose typography is based on the Amsterdam School houses around Museum Het Schip.

On a base of airmail paper, shapes of colored pencil and gouache drift downwards like a drop from the sky. The inspiration for this series came from a few sheets of airmail paper I found in my paper collection. It's a remnant of travels to the tropics from earlier times, before the mobile phone made its entrance. After weeks without contact with home, you could pick up your letters written on airmail paper at the local post office.

the switch is about turning points in people's lives where an old situation has to make way for a new one and consists of a series of photos
of objects that I collected, arranged and
photographed while clearing out and emptying the house of a family member, who could no longer live there for health reasons.

Telephone bench

It is a bench with an old-fashioned telephone that, when executed life-size, can serve as a meeting place both indoors and outdoors. At Cibap in Zwolle, I made a prototype of it using a laser cutter, which I then assembled in my workshop.
At Cibap, we also thought it would be nice to make it possible to charge your phone using solar energy while sitting on the bench.

As an artist, I have provided several parking garages with murals and routings, including in Haarlem (De Kamp parking garage and Stationsgarage), in Groningen (Pathe garage), and the Stationsgarage in Enschede.
In Amsterdam, I designed two murals in the North and South Jordaan districts, which still exist today. In Middelburg, I designed a total concept for a residential care project that was implemented in phases. I also contributed to construction projects and tenders during the concept phase. For various housing associations, I have provided color advice for renovations.

Light has always played a role in my work. When determining the color on the walls in parking garages, where the color in daylight can differ significantly from the color in artificial light, when illuminating spaces and exhibitions, when photographing, but also light as a material is something I enjoy working with.
For this reason, I followed several courses in lighting technology, completed a work period at the ILO in Amsterdam, and designed lighting plans for the theater, for example, with small round spots on the floor created with diffusely adjusted profile spotlights. With light, you can create atmosphere and focus, even though it is not a tangible material. That's what I find so special about it. -
after the storm
In 1674, a storm swept across Utrecht, destroying part of the Dom Church. This was commemorated in 2024. It began with an organ concert in the Dom Church, simultaneously with 3 other organs in different countries. In December and January, Mr. Beam organized a series of projections on the Dom Tower every evening.
This allowed me to finally add the Dom Tower to my bucket list. Over two evenings, my work titled 'after the storm' appeared in a sequence, very briefly but long enough to be clearly seen.
On the first gallery, a family of Orcas swam, one of which seemed to swim out of the tower, framed by shell borders as decoration. When I created it, I imagined what it would be like if climate change really went completely wrong. I thought it would be a good image if Orcas were swimming around in the tower then.

off we go!
at the invitation of 'made in sishane' we were guests for a week in the lighting district of Istanbul. We visited workshops, made working drawings, worked together with craftsmen who were able to execute our work, which at the end of the week resulted in an exhibition in the middle of Istanbul's lighting district and then at the Dutch consulate.
Off we go is a light object on wheels with a large incandescent lamp as its light source. The exterior is made of textile stretched over a frame of white powder-coated metal.
