Breakdown on the road

Near Assen, an announcement was made. A tractor was stuck on the tracks near Hoogeveen. We were asked to exit the train. So, a few minutes later, we were standing at Assen station. That turned out to be a good thing. Assen station was completely renovated some time ago, featuring an impressive wooden roof structure. It was nice to look at. But that wasn't all. While most small stations have a place where you can get coffee, Assen station had an Indonesian snack bar in the station hall with a few tables to eat at. Super delicious. See, that's what you discover when you have a breakdown on the road. Suddenly, waiting became a culinary highlight in an unexpected location. Highly recommended, making a visit to the Drents Museum even more appealing.
