The perspective of the perfect oval
Share
For my graphic design lessons I had come up with a block of perspective drawing. There were 5 assignments for which students could get 2 points per part. If they got all 5 right they got a 10. An attractive prospect. It turned out to be an excellent motivation to get started and many managed to get that coveted 10.
An additional advantage was that they all learned to draw perspective and, as a final assignment, they made a beautiful series of posters for the Open Monument Day. where they drew a self-chosen building from their own environment in perspective. We made an exhibition and a booklet of that and so the circle was complete.
Drawing a circle, we can all think of something to arrange that, but an oval is a different story. My students could all do it.
