natural dyes, plant based colour

A peek inside my freezer

While the heat outside is scorching and ice creams are flying off the shelves, there's something entirely different going on in one of my freezer drawers. A while ago, I re-immersed myself in dyeing textiles with natural materials. This requires a certain volume of materials, which means saving them up. For instance, I now have a substantial collection of frozen avocado pits that yield beautiful salmon-pink hues. Onion skins also work well. Just from the kitchen, from things that are delicious to eat. Beautiful, isn't it?

Have a wonderful summer!
